Introduction

Amoxicillin belongs to the group of Beta-lactam antibiotic derived from the Penicillin & potassium clavulanate may also be termed as Clavulanic acid is a Beta-lactamase inhibitor antibiotic. Mechanism of action

Amoxicillin works to stop the bacteria from multiplying by inhibiting their cell wall production which is an essential thing for the protection & covering of bacteria & thereby prevent infection. Clavulanic acid is used to increase the potency of penicillin products & is active in front of Beta-lactamase resulting in restoration of antimicrobial activity of Amoxicillin (Beta-lactam).
